Electrical engineering company Slaters Electricals has announced the consolidation of its business by integrating its service and installation subsidiary MEC Electrical Contractors into the parent company

Slaters is a long established and leading supplier of electrical power distribution equipment including both new and remanufactured transformers, switchgear and a range of other associated services.

MEC previously operated as an independent operation providing installation, testing and maintenance services.

Under the new company structure, Slaters will provide a fully integrated electrical power distribution package, from the design, supply of HV and LV electrical equipment through to project management, installation, maintenance, testing, repairs and overhaul.

As a result the company can tailor product and service solutions to meet specific project and site requirements.

This includes the capability to provide the most effective bespoke ‘supply, install and maintain’ power packages to meet all equipment, delivery and commercial requirements.

Under the new organisation the company will continue operations at new and upgraded operational facilities in Blaydon, Sheffield and Birmingham, as well its headquarter manufacturing facilities in the North East.

Nick Bull, Head of Sales at Slaters Electricals, said: “MEC has a long and successful history of providing first class electrical installation services and we will provide a more extensive and streamlined range of support and expertise under the new arrangements.

“In addition, we will continue to drive forward our electrical maintenance capability to ensure that business critical power supplies and distribution systems remain safe, reliable and capable of meeting the performance standards required at all times.”
