Lighting specialist Glamox has extended its family of lighting equipment for hazardous areas by introducing a new robust, waterproof, slim design LED luminaire for use in Zone 2 according to IEC EN 60079
The new Glamox TX61 Zone 2 series of LED luminaires are suitable for onshore and offshore oil and gas, marine and other potentially explosive industrial applications. The design of the TX61 housing and diffuser ensures that the luminaire has an ingress protection rating of IP66 and IP67. The result is a compact, slim design that is seawater-resistant, vibration-resistant and maintenance-free.
Long life and excellent heat management
The design of the TX61 housing provides optimum heat management, removing heat from the LEDs to ensure a longer operating life, improved lumen output and accurate colour temperature. The luminaire is designed for a lifetime of 100,000 hours at Ta 45°C ambient temperature. The maintenance-free luminaire provides higher energy efficiency, superior lighting quality and longer operating life, resulting in significant savings in installation, operation and maintenance costs.
Lighting quality
The TX61 is designed with extensive light comfort. The colour-rendering index (CRI) is above 80 and so provides the surrounding area with high quality lighting. In order to simulate daylight, the colour temperature (CTT) is 4,000 Kelvin to ensure a safer working environment.
Easy replacement
The slim profile of the TX61 is the ideal choice for harsh, demanding hazardous area applications. The series is available in 2 x 10W with 2200 Lumen output, and 2 x 20W with 4500 Lumen output. These two variants are designed to ensure easy replacement and retrofit of 2 x 18W and 2 x 36W fluorescent luminaires. A wide range of mounting options are available including distance-adjustable brackets.
