The latest version of the J+J electric actuator, designed, developed and manufactured by J+J in Spain, takes the globally recognised brand that has been sold in more than 70 countries to a new level, and is now probably the most user friendly smart electric actuator on the market today.
MULTI-VOLTAGE 24V-240V
The J3C-S can accept and auto-detect any input voltage between 24-240V AC or DC and can be on-off, failsafe, modulating or failsafe modulating. As with all models since 2002, all electrical connections are made externally, eliminating the need to remove the cover to connect.
EASY HOOK UP SAVES TIME
The simple external DIN plugs supplied with the actuator are almost as easy as a domestic 3 pin plug to wire and the colour coded plugs differentiate between power and control connections. This ease of hooking up saves a lot of time on installation and eliminates the risk of damage or errors occurring whilst the cover is removed to connect, as is required in most other actuators.
SIMPLE TO UPGRADE TO J3C-S
Wiring is the same as earlier versions so when the time comes to replace an actuator, simply connecting the existing plugs to the J3C-S will have it working without the need for re-wiring.
VISUAL POSITION INDICATION
Once connected the J3C-S actuator keeps you visually informed of its operational status, continuously. Firstly a mechanically driven local visual position indicator shows the valve position, indicating for either 2 or 3-way actuated valves. Secondly, internal switches advise end of travel confirmation via a volt free circuit, allowing different supply and control system voltages to be employed. Finally, the LED light sees an upgrade from a single red colour to multi-colour, to enhance the already hugely popular and now much copied continuous visual status advisory light feature.
FUNCTION STATUS LIGHT
The continuously visible LED shows green for open or opening and red for closed or closing and introduces a blue colour for modulating versions. Interspersed with a flashing amber LED when moving, the J3C-S even shows if it is opening or closing.
FAULT WARNING LIGHT
The benefit of the multi-colour LED extends to a fault warning light that not only advises users that the J3C-S will not respond to external commands as it is protected in ‘Fault/Service Interruption Mode’ but will flash the LED and the sequence and colours of the flash will indicate a probable cause.
This feature can tell users at a glance whether the actuator is in manual mode or that the valve may be blocked, eliminating time-consuming investigative work trying to discover why an electric actuator without this feature, is not responding to command signals.
